Mike Wilcox was both a Dep --and then a leader of the Surrey Jazz Orchestra (SJO Big Band) for over 20 years leading up to his retirement in July 2017.
Over the years Mike had played  - all the key sax and wood wind instruments including Lead Alto Sax, Tenor Sax, Soprano , flute and clarinet.
During his leadership the SJO Big Band grew in stature --not only playing many standard big band tunes --but leading edge, challenging scores from many of the leading contemporary big bands of the 2000's!
