The Surrey Jazz Orchestra (SJO Big Band)  was born 50 years ago. 
Initially known as the Addlestone Dance Band it has not only survived but gone from strength to strength playing at a number of different venues across Surrey including Addlestone, Ripley, Byfleet, Woking Conservative Club and today and for the last 10 plus years at the Village Hall in Jacobs Well.
In 2019 to celebrate this anniversary the band is playing two key concerts 
 - June at Jacobs Well-where there was significant  support from many of the ex players --including a performance by Mike Wilcox who lead the band for over 20 years 
 - October 26th  --as part of the Jazz in the Green series in Englefield Green.
